X-ray microtomograph

The Innventia 3D X-ray microtomograph MicroXCT-200 from Xradia makes 3D images of your samples. They can be wood, paper, board or composite samples, but also other types of material. The inner structure is revealed without cutting, slicing, polishing or in any other way disturbing or destroying the material. In most cases no preparation or embedding of the sample is needed.

The instrument uses X-rays to image the rotating sample from many directions, and the resulting 3D image is reconstructed in the computer. Highest resolution (~1 µm) is acquired for samples with approximately 1 mm diameter. For a sample with a diameter of 10 mm the resolution will be approximately 10 µm.
