ModelPACK
A tool for prediction of packaging performance for corrugated board boxes was developed in the EU-project ModelPACK. The ModelPACK tool is a way to investigate box performance based on the choice of raw materials, box design and manufacturing processes. It incorporates effects of
creep in paper materials and dimensional stability at different ambient conditions.
Innventia ModelPACK services
Innventia can provide the following services to users of ModelPACK:
- Education in the use of ModelPACK and in the importance of material properties for optimal packaging performance
- Characterisation of papers, boards and boxes to expand the database used with the tool
- Calibration of the models for a specific board manufacturing unit for monitoring and optimisation of the manufacturing process.
- Customer specific models or datastructures for optimisation of packaging design.
Together with research on paper materials, packaging materials testing, logistics and Life Cycle Analysis studies, the ModelPACK services at Innventia enables a holistic perspective on corrugated board as packaging solution for our customers.
