A large number of tree species have been investigated together with research partners and customer companies, so far on four continents:
Conifers/softwoods:
- Norway spruce (Picea abies) (7 European countries)
- Scots pine (Pinus silvestris) (3 European countries)
- Sitka spruce (Picea sichensis) (Scotland)
- Black spruce (Picea mariana) (Canada)
- Loblolly pine (Pinus Taeda) (Brazil, USA)
- Maritine pine (Pinus pinaster) (France)
Broad-leaves/hardwoods:
- Eucalypts (different types and hybrids from 3 continents)
- Aspen/poplar (Populus tremula and hybrids with tremuloides)
- Birch (Betula)
Studies of more species and hybrids are prepared by sampling.
Streamlined routines for sampling, sample preparation, measurements, data processing and
databases have been developed for compatibility, efficiency and quality of samples and data. Tools for evaluation,
modelling and simulation are also developed, matching the data formats.
