Distribution Packaging Development

Does your secondary packaging minimise damage, minimise transport and storage volumes and minimise total costs?

Why not let Innventia carry out a free of charge preliminary assessment to make sure the distribution packaging for your products is optimised.

Not only do we have over 50 years of experience in the expert design of distribution packaging, but we also have a fully equipped distribution packaging laboratory to evaluate product properties and packaging performance. Read more about the laboratory.

Case Study 1

Packaging was redesigned for a heavy duty non interruptible power supply for a computer system. Shipping container, pallet and cushioning materials were all reengineered to improve performance; packaging volume was reduced by 24%, gross weight by 9%, and packaging price by 35%.  In addition product handling whilst unpacking and installing were also improved and reduced required install team by one person.

Case Study 2

Packaging design for a medical centrifuge sold throughout the world.  The centrifuge manufacturer had experienced considerable difficulty in sourcing a satisfactory packaging solution that prevented damage to the product in worldwide distribution.  A full assessment of product fragility and the distribution environment, coupled with knowledge of cushioning materials and product mechanical loading points enabled the team to design a solution.  This solution was verified as fit for purpose in the distribution laboratory prior to launch.  Satisfactory performance was reported from the field.

Case Study 3

Assessment of the stacking strength required for a secondary corrugated case / primary carton combination for household cleaning products resulted in re specification of carton and case, minimizing both packaging cost and environmental impact.

Our distribution packaging design facilities and laboratories are staffed by qualified and highly experienced engineers and secondary packaging designers who are well versed in applying material science and engineering to product and packaging solutions.
