A pilot scale test site for offset printing

LINDA, the pilot scale web testing machine at Innventia, can be used to simulate and study the phenomena occurring in a printing press. Web breaks, elongations in MD and CD in dynamic conditions, linting and print quality are examles of printing-related parameters that can be studied on LINDA with a systematic methodology and under industrially relevant conditions.

LINDA is equipped with an offset printing nip, which is used to study the effects of different paper qualities, chemical additives, founts, printing inks, rubber blankets and settings of the printing press. The experimental methods developed to evaluate lint build-up in the printing press are examples of the activities in the printing area at Innventia. These methodologies are frequently applied in both research project and for customer projects.
