This monograph gives a review of continuous digester systems and equipments as a background to the process conditions in commercially available continuous digesters. Process outlines for several cooking methods such as conventional cooking, Lo-Solids cooking, Compact Cooking etc. are presented. Single-vessel and two-vessel digester systems are discussed alongside material balances, hydraulic effects, pulp yield, strength delivery and process control strategies.
