Pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (Py-GC/MS) provides a detailed and in most cases complete overview of the organic constituents of a sample. Presence of microorganisms can be detected and further characterised by the experts in the microbiology group at Innventia.

 

Inorganics remaining after the pyrolysis can be characterized by X-ray analysis (ESEM-EDXA). The microscopy facilities at Innventia are also very important for the analysis of certain defects such as e.g. an uneven distribution of additives/fillers and coatings.
