Subjective print evaluation
Innventia comprises genuine expertise in perception psychology (i.e. how we perceive our environment through our senses, vision, touch etc.), experimental and statistical methods through two trained perception psychologists.

Benchmarking and specific projects are conducted with trained panels for visual assessment of print quality including factors like mottle, gloss variation and other attributes. The knowledge base is continuously updated and new methods are developed through ongoing research.

The Innventia Perception Laboratory is now part of the new Human Product Interaction Laboratory and offers
  • panel testing of perceived quality of various materials such as paper, board, prints and packages
  • tailor-made testing, designed specifically for your samples
  • courses on subjective and instrumental assessment of print quality (also possible on site)
  • panel tests performed on site
  • consulting in how to conduct experiments and get a visual assessment programme started at you company
  • instrumental measurements. Through Innventia Image analysis laboratory, we can acquire a large number of paper and print measurements and relate these to perceived print quality.
  • Eye-tracking cameras - register eye movements to collect information about e.g. visual hotspots
