is a Knowledge Coordination Project, funded by the European Commission under the 6th Framework Programme, "Information Society Technologies", bringing together existing expertise from industry, research and design to create a knowledge community on tools to design for emotion.
The ENGAGE consortium consists of 21 project partners from 9 European countries, IBV in Spain being the coordinator. STFI-Packforsk is a minor partner. The network has a budget of 599 954 Euro and a duration of 30 months ending on February 28, 2007.
It is the ambition of the network to promote the use of Affective Engineering for industry and open the EU industry towards a knowledge-based economy in the area of satisfying people's subjective and emotional lifestyle needs. The project has three main objectives:
- Creating a new knowledge community.
- Achieve best use of current knowledge through broader awareness and confidence within industry of methodologies, novel tools and work environments that facilitate collaboration and creativity through holistic approaches to products and services
- Identify needs and coordinate future research
