SKAF started its activities at Packforsk in 1979.

• to carry out research, develop and inform about cardboard packaging as regards their quality, areas of utilisation and recovery
• to follow the development as regards raw material utilisation, production process techniques, areas of utilisation and recovery of cardboard packaging
• to utilise scientific competence in a cost-efficient way at technical institutes and universities
• to educate/inform its interested parties as regards news and trends within the packaging area.
