• support companies in their environmental assessment of their packages
• be the contact body between authorities and the members
• follow and try to influence the future development as regards legislation and regulations regarding packaging and environment
The Miljöpack group works in parallel with REPA and the material companies who are in charge of the other part of the producer responsibility - collection and recovery of used packaging.

Influencing coming regulations
To be able to influence coming regulations the group has regularly meetings with The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. Through these meetings the Swedish packaging industry could influence coming regulations in Sweden and in EU.
The group is also active in giving comments on new environmental proposals coming up affecting the packaging. In addition to proposals from authorities these proposals could also deal with environmental marking, certification e.g.
Spreading information of packaging as a resource saver
Packaging is still often regarded as an environmental burden. Miljöpack is working for spread information to media and the society, of the purpose of packaging and how it could act as a saver of resources.
