Process Economy
New strategies for e.g. kraft cooking cannot be assessed without considering the mill process system. For example, a changed balance between alkali charge and cooking temperature affect the pulp yield and quality but also affects the amount of generated steam and electric power to the mill. Critical bottle-necks can be identified and technical solutions may be formulated.

Mill system analysis thus provide valuable information about the potentials for new conditions and strategies for fibre line operations.
