The Printing Process
Printing is the step in the communication process where information is made visible and tangible to the users. The end product should of course be effective in its information and convey a feeling of high quality related to its purpose. Beside this it is of utter importance that the production runs effectively, as quick and smoothly as possible and at a low cost. In fact, the greater part of the effort in papermaking relates to producing surfaces that contribute to effective and high quality printing.

New printing techniques and materials, increased production volumes and press speed put higher demands on the substrates to facilitate a good runnability. Innventia has a substantial competence when it comes to printing and material properties, especially the interactions between ink, fountain solution and printing substrate. We can assist in a wide variety of runnability and printability issues as well as in colour management and standardisation matters. The latter two takes the printing from being a handcraft into a process industry, which brings many challenges but also a great deal of benefits.

Innventia can also support when creating efficient business models for digital printing, where for example value-added products and services can be one important part.
