Owners

Six companies together have 51% direct ownership: Billerud, Holmen, Korsnäs, M-real, Stora Enso and Södra.
The balance is owned by the Swedish government through RISE Holding (29%), The STFI Association of Interested Parties (10%) and The Private Owners' Association Packforsk (10%).
 

Geografic locations

Innventia head office is situated in Stockholm, adjacent to the Royal Institute of Technology, KTH. The company also has an office in Kista, a suburb to Stockholm.
Innventia is represented in Trondheim, Norway, by PFI AS, a research company in which it has majority ownership. 
 

Turnover and personnel

The turnover for the group Innventia, PFI and Innventia Edge was in 2009 SEK 310 million, divided into three business areas, Exploratory Research (35%), Industrial Research (38%) and Consulting (27%).
innventia has 250 employees of whom more than 200 work with research.
 

Financing - Business areas

  • Exploratory Research – Research directed at areas of future strategic importance. Financed mainly by public funding, e.g. a government, the EU etc.
  • Industrial Research – Long-term research, e.g. the Cluster Research Programme, Trade and Industry Groups, directed at industrial needs. Mainly financed by private funding.
  • Consulting – R&D, investigations, advice and trouble-shooting on a direct commission basis. Analysis and testing. Training courses.
