Visit Solander Science Park – from Wood to Wheel

Bioenergy

You will be guided through four sites, all located in Piteå.
1. The world’s first industrial scale production facility for renewable diesel from forest based feedstock.
2. The world’s first BioDME-project to demonstrate production of environmentally optimised synthetic biofuel from lignocellulosic biomass at industrial scale.
3. The ETC – a research and development centre for renewable fuels with focus on combustion, gasification and bio-refining processes.
4. Integration of the pulp mill with the BioDME-project.

Visit Örnsköldsvik – from Forest to Biorefinery

Forest and Biorefinery

This visit is divided into two parts. The first part is about how Sweden can increase the production of forests and how wood raw material supply to industry can be improved. In the second part the production of biorefinery products such as special cellulose and ligno sulphonates will be described and the Processum Biorefinery Initiative will show its ethanol pilot plant. Visit Växjö – the modern wood city  

Wood - This study tour has been cancelled!

This visit is destined to the home district of Carl von Linné. Växjö is located in the middle of south Sweden. The community of Växjö has its own strategy of building with wood. We will explore modern wood house construction sites, both multi-story buildings and energy efficient passive houses as well as the head quarters of IKEA.
