"Carbon footprinting - what does it mean for the paper packaging sector"
Whether you are a believer or not, there is overwhelming scientific consensus that climate change is real, happening today, and is at least in part a direct result of human activities. The combustion of fossil fuels generates carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, which trap heat within the Earth’s atmosphere, changing global climate patterns. Historical records seem to show a direct correlation between greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere and average global temperatures.
Although some scientists continue to contest the accuracy of the facts and science behind climate change forecasts, the most important fact for business leaders is the high level of public and government acceptance of the need to act to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
