Packaging in a low carbon economy – the carbon management event created for the packaging supply chain
Delegate booking is now open for this first Edge event, taking place at the National Motorcycle Museum (near Birmingham airport and the NEC) on Tuesday 30th September.
In a recent survey Edge found that 70% of packaging manufacturers and users have taken steps to quantify the carbon footprint of the packaging they produce or use. They recognize this as being at the forefront of the current environment debate affecting the packaging supply chain. This event will provide a powerful opportunity for decision makers to engage in this important debate and to share experience and expertise.
A series of high profile speakers, with MEP, Dorette Corbey as key note speaker, will be joining a unique, packaging–focused conference. Her European perspective and credentials, as rapporteur for the EU Packaging Directive on the Committee for the Environment, Public Health & Food Safety, as well as member of the temporary Committee on Climate Change make her well placed to launch the day’s packed programme of information and debate.
Chaired by David Shukman, Environment and Science Correspondent for BBC News, the event is already supported by a line up of impressive speakers and commentators including packaging manufacturers, brand owners, retailers and trade associations who will share their experiences in quantifying their carbon footprint and developing appropriate solutions to manage the impact of both their packaging processes and packaged products.
