Paper chemistry

Innventia carries out a wide range of research and service activities in the field of paper chemistry, encompassing the fields of process chemistry, performance chemistry and microbiology. Innventia is a world-leader in fibre-chemistry research, and paper chemistry has been a focus activity for more than 40 years at the institute.

In the field of process chemistry, there are also excellent facilities for conducting pilot-scale trials using the FEX pilot paper machine.

Innventia can offer innovative paper chemistry solutions in nearly all areas of paper chemistry. Our labs are equipped to carry out advanced analysis of:

  • Fibre properties (e.g. fibre bulk and surface-charge, flocculation behaviour, curl, kinks)
  • White water characterisation (e.g. COD, carbohydrate analysis, z-potential, particle size distributions and microbiology investigations).
