Pulp and Paper Fundamental Research Symposium

4-8 September 2017

Location: Pembroke College, Oxford

The Pulp and Paper Fundamental Research Society is an independent, charitable organisation registered in Great Britain for the promotion of research and education in the pulp and paper industry.

RISE Bioeconmy's Mikael Nygårds will speak about "Experimental and numerical verification of 3D forming" and "Creasing and folding" in the first session "Paper Mechanics" september 4. Both are results from BiMaC innovation, which is a project we have together with KTH, and a number of industry partners.

RISE Bioeconomy's Paul Krochack will speak about "The effect of press nip geometry on dryness, density and paper properties" in the third session "Manufacture and process" september 5. He will show how different pressure strategies can change the sheet structure in the z-direction and what this means for paper properties and dry matter in pressing.

This conference takes place every four years and is considered to be the most prestigious in the Paper Physics world. It is important for RISE Bioeconomy to attend this conference because it is so close to our core competencies. It is important both to see us and to hear what else happens in the field of global.
